*Michael Clayton (2007)

February 19, 2008

I know this is getting a lot of Oscar hype, but I think it lives up to it.  If you liked The Firm and/or The Pelican Brief, you should like this, also.

King of California (2007)

February 19, 2008

Still not sure how I even came across this movie, but it was well worth it.  The character Michael Douglas plays is so funny and likable.  If you’re looking for a feel-good, adventure movie, look for this.

Shopgirl (2005)

February 19, 2008

Jason Schwartzman is just funny.  He’s kind of typecast in most of his movies, but always makes me laugh.  Steve Martin(who also wrote the film), on the other hand, plays a serious character with Claire Danes as the object of his affection.  This was alright, but a little to slow for me.

He Was a Quiet Man (2007)

February 19, 2008

Very untraditional role for Christian “Kuffs” Slater. It’s pretty interesting, but lost for points for it’s slow pace. This is worth a watch.

Weirdsville (2007)

February 19, 2008

Junkies, devil worshipers, mid-evil midgets…this movie has it all!  It’s not going to win any awards, but it sure is entertaining!

*Charlie Wilson’s War (2007)

February 19, 2008

Anything with Philip Seymour Hoffman is automatically good. Julia Roberts did a surprisingly good job(I’m usually not a fan) and Tom Hanks was a little better than I expected. This is a must-see.
