Body of Lies (2008)

January 7, 2009

Normally, I’m all about Ridley Scott movies, but this one wasn’t anything special. Russell Crowe’s char was boring, but DiCaprio (who looked more like Timberlake) was a pretty convincing field-op. It piqued my interest at the very begining, but I think I could have written a better ending.

Taken (2008)

December 27, 2008

Liam Neeson’s character in this movie is a lock for “father of year”.  When I am kidnapped(which is only a matter of time, because of the high ransom I’ll fetch), I want him on the case.

Max Payne (2008)

October 21, 2008

Now, I like Mila Kunis and all, but she shouldn’t be playing a bad-ass russian assassin.  I had low expectations for this and I was still let down.  The trailer with Marilyn Manson’s “If I was your Vampire” was much better than the movie.

Death Race (2008)

September 19, 2008

I have to admit, I like Jason Statham.  Some of his movies are pret-ty bad(i.e. Crank), and this one isn’t much better, but I have a soft spot for destruction derby.  Just take it at face value, and it’s mildly entertaining.  It gets a few bonus points for it’s Mario Kart(nerd alert!) style fighting: you [...]

Hitman (2007)

September 11, 2008

This turned out better than I anticipated.  Timothy Olyphant managed to be a convincing agent, and his co-star, future bond girl Olga Kurylenko, was fun to watch(very fun in some parts).  Some of the action sequences are bit much, but it’s still a good action flick.  I think I would have made a decent hitman, [...]

I Am Legend (2007)

December 27, 2007

A more appropriate title would be “I Am Boring”.  I can’t believe it was only 100 minutes; it seemed like it dragged on for like 200 minutes.  The plot was already done in The Omega Man, and this remake had a lot of potential(with the modern day effects and all), but I would rather reorganize [...]

Death Sentence (2007)

December 27, 2007

This is pretty much the same plot as The Brave One, ecept a LOT better.  Vigilante Kevin Bacon goes on a killing spree.  I’m not saying this is a good movie, but if you had any interest in seeing brave one, watch this instead.  I think it’s kinda worth watching just to see Kevin’s new [...]

The Kingdom (2007)

December 27, 2007

This is about the touchy United States/Saudi Arabia alliance. It kept me interested the whole time: good acting with a good story. Jamie Foxx has impressed me lately(ignore the awful Miami Vice fiasco) with his performance in this and Jarhead.

The Brave One (2007)

December 27, 2007

Bleh, this movie sucked! I heard all this crap about how good Jodie Foster was, but I didn’t see anything special. It was boring(I fell asleep in the middle) and the ending was lame. If you want to see an entertaining vigilante movie, check out Death Sentence with Kevin Bacon. It’s [...]

No Country for Old Men (2007)

December 20, 2007

Let me start by saying I’m a huge Cohen brothers fan., but this one irked me a bit.  The acting was great, the story was good, but the ending…mass terrible.  It’s like the ran out of money, and just wrapped it up in like 2 minutes!  This isn’t one of their best, in my humble [...]
